  • THE MODEL ASEAN MEETING

    The Model ASEAN Meeting (MAM) is a simulation of how decision making processes take place in ASEAN framework and how each step of administrative structure operates during the ASEAN meetings. The resultant benefits from this Model ASEAN Meeting are invaluable. Not just making youth more familiar with ASEAN and its factors, how it works, promotes interest of ASEAN community but also making the students improves their skills in research, debate skill, diplomacy skill to broaden their social network which is empirically useful in their careers.

    The Model ASEAN Meeting was inaugurated in 2015 during 27th ASEAN Summit which is a simulation of ASEAN meetings and mechanisms, targeted as a specific group of participants in order to understand the decision making process involved before Statements or Declarations are made at the end of meeting.

    • Promotes ASEAN to its people, raises interest, makes more connected and establishes a firm relationship among the regional countries.
    • Communicates ASEAN and its affairs to people who have an interest in ASEAN, diplomacy and international relations, and serves as an educational way of promoting interest in ASEAN affairs to a younger generation.

    Theme: Protection and Promotion of the Rights of Migrant Workers in ASEAN

    Model ASEAN Meeting in Da Nang 2017 is the post –program activity of alumni of The second ASEAN Foundation Model ASEAN Meeting held in Laos from October 1 to October 7, 2016.

    One of the sapient fact for holding Model ASEAN Meeting in Da Nang 2017 is to try to hand the ASEAN spirit over to the next generations. ASEAN countries have diversities in terms of economic, political, and social statistics, and culture, so it is perplexing to understand each of these factors among the ASEAN member states and we accept these different atmospheres, turn it into an opportunity and make it to become “united in diversity”. We believe that is how our youths should consider which will contribute to establish long – lasting ASEAN brotherhood in their hands. We have to preserve what our elders have done for us.
